Domestic, Commercial, EV Charging & Inspection and Testing (UK)
1. Definitions
TwinGold Electrical Ltd, a UK-registered electrical contractor.
Any individual, business, or organisation engaging the Company.
All electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, EV charging installation, labour, materials, and associated services provided by the Company.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 The Company provides electrical services to **domestic and commercial clients**, including but not limited to:
* Electrical installation and maintenance
* Fault finding and repairs
* Inspection and Testing (EICR, EIC, Minor Works Certificates)
* EV charging point supply and installation
2.2 All works are carried out in accordance with applicable UK legislation and standards.
3. Quotations & Estimates
3.1 Quotations are valid for **30 days** unless stated otherwise.
3.2 Quotations are based on information provided by the Client and any inspections carried out at the time.
3.3 Estimates are not fixed prices and may change if the scope of works changes.
3.4 Any additional or varied work required will be discussed and charged accordingly.
4. Acceptance of Work
4.1 Acceptance of a quotation, estimate, or booking (verbally, in writing, or electronically) constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
4.2 The Company may require a deposit prior to commencement of works.
5. Pricing & Payment
5.1 All prices are **exclusive of VAT** unless stated otherwise.
5.2 Payment terms are **due on completion** unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.3 Late payments may incur statutory interest and recovery costs in accordance with the **Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998**.
5.4 The Company reserves the right to withhold certificates or suspend works until payment is received in full.
6. Cancellations & Call-Outs
6.1 Cancellations made with less than **48 hours’ notice** may be charged a cancellation fee.
6.2 Missed appointments or denied access may result in a call-out charge.
6.3 Emergency call-outs are chargeable regardless of outcome.
7. Client Responsibilities
7.1 The Client must provide safe, clear, and uninterrupted access to the work area.
7.2 The Client is responsible for ensuring the premises are safe and compliant unless otherwise agreed.
7.3 The Client must disclose any known electrical faults, asbestos, or hazardous materials before work begins.
8. Unforeseen Conditions
8.1 The Company is not responsible for defects in existing wiring or installations not installed by the Company.
8.2 Where unsafe or non-compliant systems are discovered, the Company reserves the right to stop work until remedial action is agreed.
9. EV Charging Installations
9.1 EV charger installations are subject to site suitability, existing electrical capacity, and DNO approval where required.
9.2 Any delays or additional costs due to DNO requirements, upgrades, or third-party involvement are the Client’s responsibility.
9.3 The Company is not responsible for manufacturer defects or changes to grant eligibility.
10. Inspection & Testing (EICR)
10.1 Inspection and Testing is **non-invasive** and limited to accessible parts of the installation.
10.2 The Company cannot guarantee the condition of concealed wiring or accessories.
10.3 A **satisfactory** or **unsatisfactory** outcome reflects the condition at the time of inspection only.
10.4 Remedial works are not included unless specifically quoted.
11. Materials & Ownership
11.1 All materials supplied remain the property of the Company until payment is received in full.
11.2 Any removed materials become the property of the Company unless otherwise agreed.
12. Standards & Certification
12.1 All works comply with **BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)**.
12.2 Electrical certification will be issued where legally required upon full payment.
12.3 Notification to Building Control (where applicable) will be carried out via the appropriate Competent Person Scheme.
13. Guarantees & Warranties
13.1 Workmanship is guaranteed for **12 months** unless stated otherwise.
13.2 Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied equipment.
13.3 Guarantees do not cover misuse, accidental damage, third-party alterations, or normal wear and tear.
14. Liability
14.1 The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits or business interruption.
14.2 Liability is limited to the value of the works carried out, except where prohibited by law.
14.3 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Delays & Force Majeure
15.1 The Company is not responsible for delays caused by events beyond its control, including material shortages, weather, or third-party delays.
16. Termination
16.1 The Company may terminate works immediately if the Client breaches these Terms.
16.2 The Client remains liable for all costs incurred up to the termination date.
17. Complaints & Disputes
17.1 Complaints must be submitted in writing within **14 days** of completion.
17.2 Both parties agree to attempt resolution amicably before legal proceedings.
18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of **England and Wales**.
19. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will apply to all new works.
